New apple ipad 3 Rumored Specs

New apple ipad 3 Rumored Specs

Apple is set to unveil its next-generation iPad - which will come in two versions - at the iWorld scheduled for January 26, 2012, according to sources at its supply chain partners. The new models will join the existing iPad 2 to demonstrate Apple's complete iPad series targeting the entry-level, mid-range and high-end market segments, the sources claimed.

The latest rumor coming from “supply chain partners” is that Apple won’t be replacing the iPad 2. Instead we’ll have three iPad-branded tablets on the market by the end of January.
The move is thought to be in response to the popularity of Amazon’s Kindle Fire, which has already sold millions of units in the short time it has been on sale. Apple is expected to position the iPad 2 as a competitor to the Kindle Fire by giving it a budget price, while still offering a larger screen than Amazon’s device. If true, that’s a very clever move on Apple’s part, especially if they can get near a $199 price point.
The iPad 2 will be competing directly with Amazon's kindle Fire in the price-sensitive market segment, while the new models will focus on the mid-range and high-end segments respectively, the sources said.
Apple officials declined to comment.
  • The iPad 3 could be 4G and use Qualcomm’s LTE Gobi 4000 chip, according to CNET. Apple uses Qualcomm to supply the 3G chips in its iPhones. Digitimes says the new tablet is also expected to use a quad-core A6 processor, an upgrade from the A5 in the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S.
  • A “retina display”-level screen is expected to finally arrive on the iPad with Apple’s next launch. The 9.7-inch display is expected to boast a 2048×1536 resolution, according to DisplaySearch analyst Richard Shim.
Instead of the previously-rumored 7.85-inch, the upcoming iPad models will still feature 9.7-inch screens but come with QXGA resolution (1,536x2,048 pixels), the sources indicated. Dual-LED light bars are designed for the new iPads to strengthen the brightness of the panels, the sources added.
Sharp will be the major panel supplier for Apple's next-generation iPad series, while Samsung Electronics and LG Display are also responsible for a part of the orders, the sources said. Minebea, from which Sharp sources backlight units (BLUs), has accordingly entered the supply chain for the new iPads, the sources pointed out.
Apple continues to contract Samsung to manufacture its quad-core A6 processors, which will be used in the next-generation iPads, the sources revealed. The existing iPad 2 is based on the dual-core A5.
Samsung is also among the CMOS image sensor (CIS) suppliers for one of the versions of the new iPad that comes with a 5-megapixel lens, marking the Korea-based vendor's first time to grab CIS orders from Apple, the sources noted. Sony is the other CIS supplier for the other model with a higher 8-megapixel lens, the sources added.
In addition, Simplo Technology and Dynapack International Technology have both secured orders for batteries with a capacity of as high as 14,000 milliampere-hour (mAh) used in the new iPads, according to the sources.

standing rib roast

Serves 10-12

For the roast:

4-rib standing rib roast (trimmed weight about 10 to 10 1/2 pounds)
1 Tbsp. black peppercorns, coarsely ground
2 tsp. dried green peppercorns (available at specialty foods shops), coarsely ground
1 tsp. white peppercorns, coarsely ground
4 whole allspice, coarsely ground
1/2 tsp. dried thyme
1 tsp. coarse salt
3/4 pound very small carrots, peeled, trimmed, blanched in boiling salted water for 4 minutes, and refreshed under cold water
1 head of garlic, separated into cloves, blanched in boiling water for 5 minutes, refreshed under cold water, and peeled
1/2 pound large shallots, blanched in boiling water for 3 minutes, refreshed under cold water, and peeled

For the sauce:

1/2 cup dry red wine
2 cups canned beef broth
6 Tbsp. Madeira
1 Tbsp. arrowroot
2 Tbsp. Dijon-style mustard
fresh thyme sprigs for garnish

Method of Preparation:
1.    Preheat oven to 500 degrees F.
2.    Let the meat stand at room temperature for 1 hour. In a small bowl combine the black pepper, green pepper, white pepper, allspice, thyme, and salt and rub the meat with the mixture. Roast the meat rib side down in a roasting pan in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
3.    Reduce the heat to 350 degrees F and roast the meat for 1 hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours, or until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the meat registers 130 degrees F for medium-rare.
4.    Twenty minutes before the roast is done add the carrots, garlic, and shallots to the pan. (Remove the vegetables with a slotted spoon if they brown too quickly.) Transfer the roast to a heated platter, drain the vegetables on paper towels, and keep them warm, covered loosely. Let the roast rest for at least 20 minutes and up to 30 minutes before carving it.
5.    Skim the fat from the pan juices, add the red wine, and deglaze the pan over moderately high heat, scraping up the brown bits. Boil the liquid until it is reduced by half and transfer it to a saucepan. Add the broth and 1/4 cup of the Madeira and boil the mixture for 5 minutes. In a small bowl stir together the remaining 2 Tbsp. Madeira, the arrowroot, and the mustard and add the mixture to the pan in a stream, whisking. Bring the sauce to a boil, whisking, and boil it for 1 minute. Season the sauce with salt and pepper and transfer it to a heated sauceboat. Arrange the roasted vegetables around the roast with the fresh thyme and serve the roast with sauce.

Easy Prime rib roast recipe

Easy Prime rib roast Recipe

First, preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Season the outside of meat with steak seasoning. Pat the seasoning into the sides of the meat.

Sear meat on top of stove in the cast iron skillet (you can use a heavy skillet, but the cast iron is the best choice as it gives it the best crust). You will have to sear each side separately, about three-to-five minutes per side at high heat. Keep turning until all the sides are seared. Sear does not mean burn, just brown it and turn, as cast iron can heat up to a very high heat. Beware that you cannot be distracted while you are doing this step - you must pay attention and keep turning it and searing.

Insert the digital meat thermometer probe into thickest part of the roast (don't hit the bone with the probe) and place it on a broiler pan, bone side down, and roast at 200 degrees until the temperature reaches 130 for bright pink (medium rare). If you like it a bit closer to medium, go to 135 but I wouldn't go beyond that as it will start to get well done. It will take about 45 minutes per pound up to a maximum of four to five hours. Be sure to go by the temperature, not the time.

Next is the most important step in roasting: Let it rest about 20 minutes before slicing. This assures you will have a very juicy roast. Use a large knife to slice off the bones, then slice into slices as thick as desired and serve with ground horseradish.

Leftovers make a superb prime rib hash when combined with fried potatoes. Enjoy!

Adam Lambert Arrested After Fighting BF

Former American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert got tossed in the pokey -- in Finland -- overnight after a brawl with his boyfriend outside a bar ... according to reports.

Lambert and Finnish Big Brother star Sauli Koskinen's argument reportedly started inside the bar in Helsinki, but eventually poured out into the street. Lambert allegedly got physical with people who tried to break up the fight, as well ... before police arrived and took him and Koskinen into custody.

They were arrested for multiple assaults, according to a Finnish newspaper.

The former American Idol star is currently on vacation in the country with his Finnish-born partner Sauli Koskinen.

The pair was enjoying a night out at Helsinki gay club Don't Tell Mama when they were allegedly involved in a scuffle.

Police were reportedly called to the venue to break up the brawl, and officers then took Lambert and Koskinen to separate cells.

However, it seems as though the couple has made amends. Hours later, Lambert tweeted, "Jetlag+Vodka=blackout. Us÷blackout=irrational confusion. jail+guilt+press=lesson learned. Sauli+Adam+hangover burgers= laughing bout it. :)"

2012 end of the world mayan calendar

2012 end of the world mayan calendar

The countdown to the apocalypse is on.

We’re one year away from Dec. 21, 2012, the date that the ancient Mayan Long Count calendar allegedly marked as the end of an era that would reset the date to zero and signal the end of humanity.

But will it?

There have been many end of times predictions over the years. Christian radio host Harold Camping faced widespread ridicule when his predictions that the world would end twice this year – on May 21, and then on Oct. 21 – failed to materialize.

But in the flurry of doomsday predictions – there have been similar dire warnings about the world coming to an end from various cultures, including Native Americans, the Chinese, Egyptians and even the Irish — the supposed Mayan prophecy seems to have held the most sway with believers.

The Mayan civilization, which reached its height from 300 A.D. to 900 A.D., had a talent for astronomy. Advanced mathematics and primitive astronomy flourished, creating what many have called the most accurate calendar in the world.

The Mayans predicted a final event that included a solar shift, a Venus transit and violent earthquakes.

Their Long Count calendar begins in 3,114 B.C., marking time in roughly 394-year periods known as Baktuns. Thirteen was a significant, sacred number for the Mayas, and they wrote that the 13th Baktun ends on Dec. 21, 2012.

The doomsday theories stem from a stone tablet discovered in the 1960s at the archaeological site of Tortuguero in the Gulf of Mexico state of Tabasco that describes the return of a Mayan god at the end of a 13th period.

“The Maya are viewed by many westerners as exotic folks that were supposed to have had some special, secret knowledge,” said Mayan scholar Sven Gronemeyer. “What happens is that our expectations and fears get projected on the Maya calendar.”

Gronemeyer, of La Trobe University in Australia, compares the supposed Mayan prophecies to the “Y2K” hype, when people feared all computer systems would crash when the new millennium began on Jan. 1, 2000.

For some reason, Gronemeyer says, people have ignored evidence that dates beyond 2012 were recorded.

The blogosphere exploded with more speculation when Mexico’s archaeology institute acknowledged on Nov. 24 a second reference to Dec. 21, 2012, on a brick found at other ruins.

“Human beings seem to be attracted by apocalyptic ideas and always assume the worst,” Gronemeyer said.

Believers have taken the end-of-the world fears to the Internet with hundreds of thousands of websites and blogs. Yet others are capitalizing on the heightened interest. Films depicting the end of the world – including the 2009 movie, “2012″ – are contributing to the mounting hype as well as to misinformation, experts say.

In southern Mexico, the heart of Maya territory, a yearlong celebration is planned.

Mexico’s tourism agency expects to draw 52 million visitors by next year only to the regions of Chiapas, Yucatan, Quintana Roo, Tabasco and Campeche. All of Mexico usually lures about 22 million foreigners in a year.

It’s selling the date, the Winter Solstice in the coming year, as a time of renewal. Many archeologists argue that the 2012 reference on a 1,300-year-old stone tablet only marks the end of a cycle in the Mayan calendar.

“The world will not end. It is an era,” said Yeanet Zaldo, a tourism spokeswoman for the Caribbean state of Quintana Roo, home to Cancun. “For us, it is a message of hope.”

For those who are thinking about how to spend what could be their last year on earth, here’s another message of hope: According to recent research, the mythological date of the “end of days” may be off by 50 to 100 years.

To convert the ancient Mayan calendar to the Gregorian (or modern) calendar, scholars use a numerical value (called the GMT). But Gerardo Aldana, a professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara, has said the data supporting the widely-adopted conversion factor may be invalid.

Aldana isn’t the only detractor.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration – yes, that’s NASA – has also weighed in on the issue.

The agency’s scientists posted answers to the most popular questions about the end-of-times theory associated with the prophecy.

“Remember the Y2K scare? It came and went without much of a whimper because of adequate planning and analysis of the situation. Impressive movie special effects aside, Dec. 21, 2012, won’t be the end of the world as we know,” the 2009 web page post says.

The answers addressed questions about whether there were any known threats to the Earth and the truth about the calendar.

One of answers posted was to the question of the possible approach of Nibiru (or Planet X or Eris), a supposed wayward planet that is said could pose a threat to Earth. The answer was a definitive rejection of the idea.

“Nibiru and other stories about wayward planets are an Internet hoax,” scientists wrote. “There is no factual basis for these claims. If Nibiru or Planet X were real and headed for an encounter with the Earth in 2012, astronomers would have been tracking it for at least the past decade, and it would be visible by now to the naked eye. Obviously, it does not exist. Eris is real, but it is a dwarf planet similar to Pluto that will remain in the outer solar system; the closest it can come to Earth is about 4 billion miles.”
